Chemistry Class Goals
OUR CLASS GOAL:
Master 80% or higher on 100% of objectives
Your success in this class will set you up for further success in other classes and in life as you will be required to think critically. As a class we will commit to work towards our BIG GOAL. In order for you to have fully succeeded in this class you need to achieve higher than a passing grade (80%). Our Big Goal encompasses to smaller goals, one to characterize our mastery of chemistry content and the other to characterize our mastery of laboratory skills.
Our goal for mastery of chemistry content is for our class to achieve an average of 80% or greater on classwork, quizzes, exams, and interim assessments. We will track our class achievement on unit exams as a way to see our progress towards meeting our goal. You will be responsible for tracking your own personal success on quizzes and exams on a tracker in your binder.

- apply content to real-life applications
- make connections across units and within units
- predicting and analyzing trends
- write a lab report
- make predictions using reasoning
- make thorough observations
- carry out experiments (follow directions, measuring)
- create and interpret graphs
- draw a conclusion about a specific event based on observations and data
- identifying the variables in a situation; selecting variables to be manipulated and held constant
- reading science journals. Identify parts. Understand methodology and conclusion
- solving algebraic formulas
- keep an organized science binder
